How to change mailbox quota
IMAP mailboxes are fixed in size by a quota. If your mailbox is running out of space, you may be able to use the instructions below to increase your quota.
Note: although increasing your quota will provide more space, it will just fill up again, unless you actively delete old mail from the mailbox. Please see IMAP mailbox management for more information.
To change the quota for a given mailbox:
- regular hosting accounts:
- login to the website control panel
- click the 'Email Control' tab
- next to your domainname, click the 'Mailboxes' link
- in the list of mailboxes, next to the mailbox to change, click 'Edit'
- enter the desired quota size
- click 'Next Step'
- logout
Note: it's not possible to increase the mailbox quota past the maximum, which is 1000Mb.
- Pro hosting accounts:
- login to the website control panel
- under Mail, click Email Accounts
- in the list of mailboxes, next to the mailbox to change, click 'Change Quota'
- enter the desired quota size
- click 'Change Quota'
- logout
Note: it's not possible to increase the mailbox quota past the maximum, which is 2048Mb (although the control panel seems to allow it). It's also not possible to use a quota larger then the total size of your hosting account (although the control panel seems to allow this too).
