How to add an email account to Apple Mail

  1. Open Mail
  2. From the menu at the top, click the Mail menu, then click Preferences..
  3. Click the plus sign (+) to create a new account
  4. Enter the name from which emails will appear (example: Your Name)
  5. Enter the email address from which emails appear (example: username@yourdomain.com)
  6. Enter the password for this POP3 account (example: password)
  7. Click Continue
  8. Ensure Account Type is set to POP
  9. Enter the incoming/POP3 mailserver (example: hostingaccountname.dns-systems.net - where hostingaccountname is the username given at the top of your welcome letter)
  10. Enter the accountname (username) to use (example: username-yourdomain-com)
  11. Enter the password for this POP3 account (example: password)
  12. Click Continue
  13. Enter the outgoing/SMTP mailserver (example: hostingaccountname.dns-systems.net - where hostingaccountname is the username given at the top of your welcome letter)
  14. Tick the box "Use only this server"
  15. Tick the box "Use Authentication"
  16. Enter the accountname (username) to use (example: username-yourdomain-com)
  17. Enter the password for this POP3 account (example: password)
  18. Click Continue
  19. Check the details, when ready, click Create to finish
