How to add a POP3 account to Outlook Express

  1. Open Outlook Express
  2. Click Tools.. Accounts..
  3. Click the Mail tab
  4. Click Add.. Mail..
  5. Enter the name from which emails will appear (example: Your Name)
  6. Enter the email address from which emails appear (example: username@yourdomain.com)
  7. Ensure incoming mailserver is set to POP3
  8. Enter the incoming/POP3 mailserver (example: mail.yourdomain.com)
  9. Enter the outgoing/SMTP mailserver (example: smtp.yourisp.com)

    Note: this uses your ISP's SMTP server. You may wish to use the SMTP service provided by your hosting account. For instructions on how to do this with domains hosted by blazingfibre.net, see How to use SMTP with your webhosting service.

  10. Enter the accountname (username) to use (example: username-yourdomain-com)
  11. Enter the password for this account (example: password)
  12. Click OK, OK

Note: SMTP servers vary with ISP. Check our list of common server addresses, or your ISP's support pages.
